President's Day

We missed school on Monday because of President's Day.
To figure out why we celebrate President's Day, we did a mini-inquiry about presidents and money.

We wrote down the interesting things we learned.

We studied posters, magazines, and books.

We learned that we celebrate President's Day on the third Monday in February because both Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays are in February, so one day in February was chosen to honor our presidents.
