Committee Work!

 Our Committee Work is underway!

In Room 612 we have jobs, but we work together to get the jobs done.  We have four committees:  the Reading Committee, the Writing Committee, the Math Committee, and the Group meeting Committee.  Each committee has two jobs that the members rotate between for each quarter of the year.  When we choose new committees, the old committee members train the new ones.

Here are some of our committee members getting their Morning Committee Work done! Because of COVID, much of our collaboration is sharing and trading off the work, instead of working so closely together. Here are a few of our committee jobs:

Accountants count up the milk and fill out the order slip
Woodworkers make sure we have enough sharpened pencils

Librarians make sure the library is in order and books are returned

Electricians make sure all the folders are turned in and passed out

Secretaries write the short date on the calendar display
Messengers fill the milk order

Teacher Assistants lead the Morning Message

Way to go, Room 612!

New Committees

Since we are about a quarter of the way through our school year, it's time to switch committees!

In Room 408 we have jobs, but we work together to get each job done.

Our Accountants on the Math Committee count up the milk order before giving it to our Messengers.

Our Librarians from the Reading Committee return books and straighten up our classroom library.

Our Postal Workers from the Writing Committee pass out mail to mailboxes.

The Electricians from the Math Committee make  sure everyone's folder is turned in and put them in number order.

The Woodworkers from the Writing Committee make sure we have lots of sharpened pencils.

Our Secretaries from the Group Meeting Committee write the short date in our Number Corner.

The Teacher Assistants from the Group Meeting Committee lead our Morning Message.

The Messengers from our Math Committee get our milk.

One of our Teacher Assistants from the Group Meeting Committee leads us with our Morning Message.

Our Woodworkers from the Writing Committee make sure we have sharp pencils ready to go every day.

Librarians from our Reading Committee put away books that have been returned.

Committee Charts

When we collaborate we realize that we need to share the work.  For our last round of committees for the school year, we created charts to keep track of our work to make sure we share the work equally.

Charts can make it easier to organize something.  After a little figuring, we had created committee work charts that made sense to us.  Then we hung them where we could refer to them.
