Visualizing

We have been learning that active readers think deeply.  Another way readers think deeply is by visualizing what they are reading like a movie in their heads.  We practiced this with an excerpt from Little House on the Prairie.

We also practiced this while reading Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg.

We stopped every now and then to draw what we visualized, and then compared it with what Chris Van Allsburg visualized when he illustrated the book.
